Find heading
Find Heading lets you select from your existing bibliographic, and, if you have them, authority headings.
By using existing headings, you improve the consistency of the headings in your collection, and your patrons' search results.
- Select Catalog > Library Search.
- Search for the authority record you want to edit.
- Next to the correct authority record, click Details.
- Click Edit Title.
- Click Find Heading.
Note: The Find Heading button appears on the Brief Title, Series/Notes, Subjects, and Added Entries sub-tabs.
- Enter a term in the Find field. If it appears, select either Bibliographic Headings or Authority Headings from the list.
- To begin the search, click Go.
- To locate a heading, browse through the list that appears.
Note: The number in brackets after the heading is the number of your records containing that heading. - When you find the heading you want, click Select.
If you do not find a usable heading, enter a new term in the Find field and click Go again.
Important: Selecting a heading overwrites any previously existing information in the field. |
