Resource Lists – Library Materials
To access a Resource List, select Catalog > Resource Lists. Next to the List you want to see, click View.
If Resource Lists include multiple types of resources, they are organized by sub-tabs. The sub-tabs you see depend on the types of resources in the List and can include: Library Materials, Resources, Web Sites, One Search, Media, and Digital Resources.
The Library Materials sub-tab includes titles in your library collection added to the Resource List. From this page, you can perform the following functions for public Resource Lists and ones you own:

- Add titles to a List
- Remove titles from a List
- Merge duplicate title records
- Run an Alliance Recon

Print a List
You can create a printout of library materials that includes the title, material type, call number, author, date of publication, reading program information, sublocation, series, and copy availability.
To print a list:
- Select Catalog > Resource Lists > Library Materials sub-tab.
- Next to the List you want to print, click View.
- Use the Sort By drop-down to choose the order you want titles to appear, and then click Go. The default order is by Call Number.
- If the List is multiple pages, click Show All to include all titles.
- Click Printable.
Create a Citation List or Bibliography
You can quickly create a citation list or bibliography of library materials included in a Resource List.
To create a citation list:
- Select Catalog > Resource Lists > Library Materials sub-tab.
- From the Create drop-down at the bottom of the page, select Citation List.
- In the field, type a title for the citation list, and then click Go.
Note: Destiny automatically creates an MLA citation using the information in a title's record. To edit a citation, click Citation next to the resource. |
In addition to bibliographic information, a bibliography includes call numbers and the option to include notes (the book summary from the Title Details page). It can be sorted by Call Number/Author, Author/Title, or Title/Author.
To create a bibliography:
- Select Catalog > Resource Lists > Library Materials sub-tab.
- From the Create drop-down at the bottom of the page, select Bibliography.
- In the field, type a title for the bibliography.
- Use the Sort By drop-down to select the order you want the titles to appear.
- If you want to include notes, select Show notes.
- Click Go.
Save a List as Text
To download a text file of the library materials in a Resource List:
- Select Catalog > Resource Lists > Library Materials sub-tab.
- Next to the List you want to save, click View.
- From the I want to drop-down at the top of the page, select Save as text, and then click Go.
Email a List
You can email a Resource List to yourself or another person.
- Select Catalog > Resource Lists > Library Materials sub-tab.
- Next to the List you want to email, click View.
- From the I want to drop-down, select Email this List, and then click Go.
- Fill in the Recipient Information.
- Click Send.
Copy a List
You can copy a Resource List, and then modify it as needed.
- Select Catalog > Resource Lists > Library Materials sub-tab.
- Next to the List you want to copy, click View.
- From the I want to drop-down, select Copy this List, and then click Go.
- Fill in the information on the Copy List page.
- Click Save.
Create a New List
You can start a new Resource List from within a List you own.
- Select Catalog > Resource Lists > Library Materials sub-tab.
- From the top of the page, click Add List.

Add Titles to a List
To add titles from within a Resource List:
- Select Catalog > Resource Lists > Library Materials sub-tab.
- Next to the list you want to add to, click View.
- Do one of the following:
- If the List is empty, click Add to this List.
- If the List already has titles in it, from the I want to drop-down, select Add to this List, and then click Go.
- From the Add to Resource List page, select titles to add.
- Click Add to List.

Remove Titles from a List
To remove titles from within a Resource List:
- Select Catalog > Resource Lists > Library Materials sub-tab.
- Next to the List you want to remove titles from, click View.
- Do one of the following:
- Next to the title you want to remove, click Remove.
- To clear the entire list, click Remove All.
Merge Duplicate Title Records
You can use a Resource List to merge duplicate title records. Once you add the duplicate titles to a List, select the best one, move all the copy records to it, and then delete the others. To learn more, see Merge Duplicate Title Records Using a Resource List.
Run an Alliance Recon
You can use a Resource List to perform a retrospective conversion (recon), an automated process to enhance your records with information from Alliance Plus, on select titles.
To perform a recon of titles in a Resource List:
- Select Catalog > Resource Lists > Library Materials sub-tab.
- Next to the list you want to perform a recon on, click View.
- From the I want to drop-down, select Run Alliance Recon, and then click Go.
- Read the warning message, and then click Yes to confirm. Job Manager appears.
- Once the Alliance Recon job status is Completed, click View to see a summary.
